This Is Ranching!

This is ranching...when a job needs to be done you find a way to get it done and you don’t quit until it’s finished. I learned a lot about this as a kid because I grew up seeing it done daily by my parents. Ranching isn’t all sunshine and rainbows. Sometimes you deal with things that might horrify others. Things like this are a part of owning livestock. Bringing in the vet for things like this isn’t practical nor affordable. Through the years we have learned to be resourceful. My dad taught me to do a C-Section when I was 12 years old. That experience and passed down knowledge is something I’m truly grateful for. So with that, we fix everything we can ourselves.

Shane and I had to help a cow with a prolapse today. It’s messy and physically taxing. Things didn’t go as simply as we hoped, but in the end we got the job done well. The cow is good to go and will heal up on in the pasture with her calf where she will do best.

I’m sure blessed to live this life with my best friend! 🤠
