The Fell Pony

I had the pleasure of photographing a Fell Pony herd two weekends ago in the Black Hills of South Dakota at the Black Hills Photo Shootout. 🐴 I had never been around this equine breed before and had honestly never heard of them. Being a horse lover, I love learning about breeds of horses that I have limited knowledge on. Do you? ❓ The Fell Pony is a versatile, working breed of mountain and moorland pony originating in the north of England in Cumberland, Westmorland, and Northumberland. I learned that “Fell” means hills. So interesting! 🤠 This mare was quite photogenic and had a spirit much bigger than she was in size! How blessed are we to know and love such incredible creatures! ❤️
